Founder’s story
I was born and raised in India, where weddings are not just events they are vibrant celebrations of culture, family, and tradition, and emotion which comes together.
Even as a child, I never played with toys the usual way. I would dress, style, and decorate them and their surroundings, creating little worlds filled with colour and detail. My family often joked that this passion must have followed me from a previous lifetime.
As the years passed, that instinct naturally became part of my life. For more than twenty-five years, friends and relatives would turn to me whenever there was a wedding in the family. Whether it was in India, Nairobi, London, or the United States, I often found myself helping with styling, sourcing, and bringing together the details that made each celebration feel special.
But through these experiences I also saw how challenging Indian wedding shopping could be especially for families living abroad. Planning everything in India often meant long travel, endless searching, and coordinating with many different vendors. One day, during a conversation with my son, I simply asked one question:
Why should wedding shopping across continents be so difficult and stressfull?
There has to be a better way. My son, who comes from a technology background, became curious about the idea. Within hours he created a small script that could filter Indian wedding outfits by style, colour, and budget. In that moment I saw how powerful technology could be if it was combined with real understanding of Indian weddings and it's traditions.
That idea became the beginning of Wedding Ease.
From childhood love of styling, to decades of helping families with weddings, to my son's first few lines of code, Wedding Ease grew from a very personal journey.
Today, Wedding Ease exists to ensure that no family has to navigate the Indian wedding shopping journey alone.
